Job Summary
The Design Director (DD) is charged with executing the overall design vision for an Advent
projects. Through a balance of imagination and acumen, the DD is responsible for leading a
“pod” of artists to facilitate this vision from the original ideation through final artistic production.
Additionally, the DD will serve alongside the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to
maintain the core design vision through the fabrication and implementation in an effort to
achieve a high level of quality, customer satisfaction and budget appropriate deliverables. At
times, the DD will be required to develop visual designs directly; however, the primary focus will
be leading the direction of the project while reporting to the VP of Customer Experience.
Responsibilities
? Direct design pod with multiple projects from concept through completion
? Lead brainstorm sessions and design kick-off meetings
? Establish creative direction for each project within pod
? Supervise and inspire creative team associated with each pod
? Delegate conceptual design tasks to design pod members
? Work with VP of Customer Experience to ensure efficiency and design margins for
projects within pod
? Work hand-in-glove with the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to ensure
project delivery and client satisfaction
? Travel, as required, for client presentations and design meetings (roughly 2-4 times per
month)
? Provide quality control over level of design aesthetic for all projects
? Master Planning
? Walk-path Planning
? Spatial Modeling
? Spatial Designing
? Materials Recommendations
? Marker Rendering / Conceptual Output
? Management of Designers
? Charette (live brainstorming event) leadership
? Influence Vision of UX/UI design in conjunction with Digital Experience rep assigned to
project
? Pricing Markups / Materials Callouts
? Ideation
? Architectural Markups
? Presenting in-person and via digital conference
Required Qualifications
? Undergraduate degree in art related field or equivalent visual design experience required
