What You Will Do

As an Associate with Saint Thomas Health Svcs-TN, you will have the opportunity to lead daily operations of surgical suites in support of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Leads and coordinates shift operations including schedules and resources.
• Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Assists surgeons during surgery, providing required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon and assisting with hemostasis.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.
• Performs staff orientation, training, and coaching. Provides input to staff performance evaluations.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

• Required Credential(s):
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) </obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 
• One or more of the following:
• Licensed </Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing </or current home state license for multi-state license recognition “Compact State” obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 
• Certified </First </Surgical Assistant credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) </obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 
• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) </obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. </

Education:

• Diploma 
  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate’s degree, or Technical degree required

Work Experience:

• 1 year of experience required.
