What You Will Do
As an OB Triage RN at Saint Thomas Midtown you will work in our new OBED to help deliver healthy babies and get moms through the process safely. You are doing what some might consider the most important nursing job of all – bringing new lives into this world. You must be flexible and available to work the Night shift.
Responsibilities:

Monitors both the baby’s and mother’s vital signs including heart rate and blood pressure

Times contractions
-
Identifies and assists with handling complications
-
Helps administer medications and epidurals
-
Aids in inducing labor
-
Coaches new mother throughout the duration of the labor and delivery

Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.

Assesses and coordinates patient’s care needs with members of the healthcare team.
What You Will Need
Licenses/Certifications/Registration:
- Required Credential(s):
- Advanced Life Support specializing in Cardiac <!–obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. <!–
- BLS Provider obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation <!–obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. <!–
- Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- One or more of the following:
- Licensed <!–Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing <!–or current home state license for multi-state license recognition “Compact State” obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Preferred Credential(s):
- Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program <!–credentialed from the S.T.A.B.L.E. Program. <!–
Education:
- Diploma
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required
Work Experience:
- Must have at least one year of Labor & Delivery RN experience
