United operates capacity to manufacture over 60,000 records per day in our new 143,000 square foot facility, where we have on site capabilities for lacquer mastering, electro-plating, printing, automated record pressing and packaging. This vast array of in-house capabilities allows us to process orders faster, support creativity, and offer flexibility when needed.

Position Summary:

  • Oversees and directs the activities of the procurement function and personnel
  • Negotiates improved pricing on raw and semi-finished materials critical to URP’s business
  • Completes strategic sourcing projects to identify new vendors, to improve the service, material and pricing received

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with other departments and leadership to define equipment, raw material and other requirements in support of production and the execution of URP’s strategic plan
  • Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.
  • Sets min/max quantities for material based on historical consumption, future demand and supplier lead times.
  • Maximizes inventory turns to support free cash flow and minimize reserve levels
  • Prepares and presents market conditions and merchandise cost reports.
  • Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Drafts, explains, and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management.
  • Evaluates and approves conditions for issuing and awarding bids.
  • Resolves grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Maintains and/or implements purchasing records, pricing, etc. in company ERP system.
  • Acts as the company’s representative in negotiations with suppliers.
  • Coordinates removal or disposal of surplus materials.
  • Administers the departmental budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
  • At least three years of experience in related field required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.
  • May require travel.
