As a newly created role, the Manager of Maintenance Control and Planning will be the newest addition to our extremely multi-talented team of aircraft mechanics.

This position will have the authority to establish, implement or modify the Maintenance Control process.

Every day is a little bit different as the Manager of Maintenance Planning and Control supports our fleet both on and offsite.

Supervisor experience, ability to multitask and prioritize and a strong maintenance background are key factors for success for the Manager of Maintenance Control and Planning at Ventura Air Services.

Essential Responsibilities
Maintains close liaison with the Operations Department to provide current maintenance status of aircraft, forecast down time for scheduled maintenance and mechanical irregularities Evaluate reported aircraft discrepancies and develop appropriate recovery plan (AOG) Conducts maintenance planning and coordinates scheduled maintenance requirements between maintenance and operations Plans and coordinates the application of inspection methods, including NDT methods and procedures to ensure the safe, reliable performance of the Company’s aircraft Convey high level of technical support to flight crews and MX vendors in person and via telephone Administer and control use of Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and Configuration Deviation List (CDL) to ensure flight safety and regulatory compliance Responsible for releasing aircraft for RTS in accordance w/ company and FAA guidelines Identify and evaluate opportunities to perform maintenance (Clear MELs or preventative mx) when operational schedules permit Determine and supply required manuals and tasks for aircraft repair to vendors Take necessary actions for reporting aircraft data, aircraft engine data, and other required reports
Requirements
Experience reviewing aircraft work packages to ensure compliance with all applicable FARs and General Maintenance Manual procedures Experience coordinating administrative processes for aircraft ferry permit authorization Determine and supply required manuals and tasks for aircraft repair to vendors Experience coordinating engine and APU forecasts, movements, spares allocation, and equipment shipping Ability to plan and schedule aircraft through all phases of assigned maintenance Seasoned A&P mechanic with 10+ years of diversified experience Ability to communicate effectively through face to face, telephone and email interactions Ability to delegate when appropriate and necessary Calm, focused ability to troubleshoot and ask probing questions Ability to navigate a variety of technological platforms simultaneously Proven ability to exercise considerable independent judgment in solving unusual work problems Adhere to and embrace the core values of Ventura Air Services (Support One Another, Fun, Speak Up, Care Deeply, Do Your Best, Constant Never-Ending Improvement Ability to work without restriction in the United States is required
