Support planning initiatives, grant proposals, decision making, and institutional effectiveness and assessment activities.
Conduct special research for institutional research/analysis projects.
Create and maintain institutional research databases and permanent records of research.
Perform senior level research assignments including data retrieval/collection, tracking, analysis and interpretation, and reporting.
Provide accurate research data to aid in sound management decisions, generates reports, verifies data, and meets deadlines for internal and external reporting.
Designs surveys, perform statistical analysis of data, and interprets results.
Develop queries for data extraction utilizing tools such as Argos, SQL Developer, and MS Access.
Assists in the compilation, preparation, and reporting of data to state and federal agencies including IPEDS, THEC, and TBR.
Provide graphic and numerical display of information for presentation to a variety of audiences.
React to and manage changes in priorities and workload.
Supervises Research Analyst.
Related duties as assigned.
Occasional work in the evenings and on weekends and travel throughout the service area may be required.
The incumbent may occasionally be required to travel outside of the service area and across the state for relevant meetings and activities.
Job Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution Four years of experience in institutional research or related research field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in related research field from an accredited institution.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated knowledge of computer applications and languages including SPSS or other statistical programming package, Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, and Word), and Microsoft Power BI used for the collection, analysis, and presentation of data and research findings.
Ability to analyze and communicate information in numerical, graphic, and narrative form.
Demonstrated experience in the design of surveys, online survey software (SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics, etc) and the interpretation of results.
Experience in developing queries for data extraction utilizing tools such as Argos, SQL Developer, and MS Access.
Familiarity with Banner, HTML, JAVA or Visual Basic is a plus.
Strong background in assessment and outcomes measurement required.
Strong analytical and organizational skills, detail oriented, and ability to relate to a variety of individuals.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, time management skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
