TITLE: Director/Instructor – Hospitality and Tourism Program
POSITION SUMMARY
The program director is responsible for providingleadership and development of the program.
They will ensurethat the program operates smoothly, maintains any applicable accreditations,and assist the division dean with the supervision and evaluation of faculty andstaff in the program.
This is a full-time instructor position.
Thefaculty member is expected to provide an effective teaching environment that isconducive to student learning.
The classroom and coursework should containelements that recognize and enhance components of the learning process, employeffective delivery of instructional materials, and responsive to the needs ofstudents.
ESSENTIALJOB FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned
Build partnerships with external stakeholders
Provide leadership for the Hospitality program
Advise students in Hospitality programs
Develop and maintain relevant curriculum
Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide course materials to students.
Submit updated course syllabus prior to the first day of class.
Regularly check your NSCC email and your departmental mailbox.
Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend.
Complete all required reports such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines.
Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar.
Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Hospitality Management or 18 graduate hours in Hospitality Management from an accredited institution
Three to five years industry experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
College teaching experience
Familiarity with accreditation processes and reporting
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS ANDABILITIES
Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes
Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
RATE OF PAY: $39,776
– $49,720 annual salary depending on experience
