This is a large, fast paced Labor and Delivery Unit.
We have 23 labor beds, a birthing center with 3 birthing suites, 19 Antepartum beds, and an OBED with 11 triage bays.

– 12 hour shifts per week, and every 3rd weekendPay: $110 per hourWhat You Will Do:As a Temporary/Contract Labor & Delivery RN at Saint Thomas Midtown you will help deliver healthy babies and get moms through the process safely.

You must be flexible and available to work any day that is needed.Responsibilities:* Monitors both the baby’s and mother’s vital signs including heart rate and blood pressureTimes contractions* Identifies and assists with handling complications* Helps administer medications and epidurals* Aids in inducing labor* Coaches new mother throughout the duration of the labor and delivery* Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.* Assesses and coordinates patient’s care needs with members of the healthcare team.What You Will Need:Licensure / Certification / Registration:* BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.* Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition “Compact State” obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.Education:* Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.Additional Preferences:Must have 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery RN experience.Why Join Our Team:As one of the largest health systems in the state, we offer rewarding careers across eight hospitals, in addition to a comprehensive network of affiliated joint ventures, medical practices, clinics and rehabilitation facilities.
