Responsibilities
- The CNO sets the vision for nursing practice in the delivery of safe, timely, efficient, equitable and patient centered care.
- Regularly makes rounds and interacts with patients to ensure patient satisfaction ** This is a must for this role**
- Maintains a current knowledge of healthcare industry trends and changes and ensures facility is prepared and compliant.
- Works as a partner with the CEO and ensures that there is an open line of communication and positive interaction
- Plan, direct and coordinate nurse services.
- Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of all nurse personnel.
- Provide clinical leadership, strategic and long-term goals for the nurse staff.
- Determine, assign and assess performance objectives for the nurse department.
- Organize, coordinate, develop and review policies, procedures, and nursing protocols to meet all regulatory, compliance, and quality care standards.
- Responsible for the quality of care, operational and financial efficiency of the nursing department.
- Lead and develop the nursing staff within the facility, providing performance goals, feedback, and development opportunities.
- Develop and oversee function/departmental budget and reporting.
- Direct and conduct recruitment, hiring, and training of personnel.
- Provide direct care as needed.
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BNA) degree with a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) degree or Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree required.
- Eight or more years of nursing experience is required. Four or more years must be floor nurse experience in behavioral, mental, psychiatric health, or addiction recovery
- Five or more years of nursing management or administration experience are required.
- A current state RN license is active and in good standing in Tennessee
