This is a day shift position that offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, competitive pay, comprehensive benefits and liberal on call pay.
DCI Transplant Laboratory provides pre – and post – transplant HLA clinical testing for multiple solid organ and stem cell transplant programs across the southern United States. As a growing clinical HLA laboratory, we are looking for a detail-oriented, highly motivated Medical Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our fast-paced, team driven workplace.
The Medical Technologist (HLA Transplant Immunology), under the direction of the laboratory director and clinical supervisor, will process specimens, perform test procedures, make preliminary interpretations, maintain equipment and perform quality control and troubleshooting protocols.
This position is 1st Shift.
Responsibilities
- Receive and process specimens according to protocols.
- Properly perform HLA tests according to procedure.
- Produce, interpret and report accurate and precise test results.
- Perform procedures related to deceased donor workups including updating UNOS / UNET.
- Participate in proficiency testing surveys.
- Participate in occasional week night call, rotating weekend call (~12 hrs / 3 weeks) & rotating holiday call (1/year).
- Communicate issues to supervisor or other appropriate individual.
- Perform instrument maintenance and method troubleshooting.
- Assists in documentation and maintaining effective department QA programs and monitors.

Job Requirements:
- Minimum education: National Medical Technologist Certification (eg. ASCP or equivalent) AND CHT or CHS licensure
- Must hold or be able to obtain a valid Tennessee Laboratory License as a Medical Technologist (MT or MLS).
- ASCP certification or eligible
- Maintains appropriate continuing education for certification and licensure
- After 1.5-2 years employment, pass Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT) exam administered by ABHI (American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics)
