This is a very physically demanding job. You will be standing on or around the road in most weather conditions. This position requires weekly travel throughout the state. No prior experience is necessary as we offer extensive training for flaggers, but MUTCD and MOT certification is a PLUS. (Traffic Control Supervisor on your certification is a PLUS.) Duties may include: Set up a safe work zone with all necessary cones, barrels, barricades, etc. Use stop and slow paddles to control the flow of traffic. Utilize two-way radio to effectively communicate with team-mates Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and elements for a long period of time Ability to twist, turn, bend, stand, climb stairs, run and walk as required Physically fit pushing/pulling/carrying lifting may and capable of lifting at least 50lbs Normal vision or corrected by use of glasses and/or contacts for normal reading and viewing abilities Must be able to work well on a team and follow supervisor instruction Good time management skills, attention to detail, and surroundings Availability to work on various nights and weekends, if required Ability to take and pass required construction safety & training classes Willing to submit to a background check and drug test Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Must be able to see, hear, speak and write clearly in order to communicate with employees and/or other customers
