Chemist

The Research Chemist is responsible for assisting in the research and development of new laboratory methods and improving existing processes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist in the development/ validation of new methods and the improvement/ validation of existing methods within the laboratory
Aid in the assimilation of new methods and technologies as required
Assist in the development of new maintenance programs for laboratory instruments
Help staff to understand details and importance of maintenance
Assist in staff training on:
Instrumentation use
Methods application
Analytical chemistry fundamentals
Aid in the documentation of cost/test of new or modified methods
Assist Research Scientists in special method development and troubleshooting of production methods as required

Successful Candidates Must Possess:

Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmaceutical, Medicinal or Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Toxicology Sciences, or related field required

A minimum of two (2) years of experience including GC/MS, LC/MS/MS required
Method development, statistical analysis, and manuscript preparation experience preferred
Experience in forensic analytical toxicology preferred
