We are currently seeking a Safety Coordinator for our Nashville,TN location!

Summary 

  • The Safety Coordinator is responsible for administering safety and health programs within the day-to-day Airtron operations with a focus on injury prevention and regulatory compliance.  Will also provide administrative support for fleet related activities.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Influences and motivates others to work in a safe manner, and communicate safety requirements to all employees
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA and company safety standards other regulatory agencies and the Company’s Safety and Health Management program.
  • Assists local leadership on regulatory interpretation, timely internal and external reporting, and overall safety and health compliance 
  • Conducts internal safety and health audits and incremental inspections of the facility to ensure compliance
  • Investigates causes of accidents and incidents then makes recommendations to ensure the prevention of recurrences 
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of safety programs and works with management to implement identified improvements
  • Delivers safety training programs to improve skills in the safety aspects of employees’ jobs
  • Assists with data entry/extraction/modification in various information platforms used across Airtron (Intelex, Success Factors, etc.)
  • Collaborates with Fleet Management and ARI to ensure driver safety training is being completed in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Assist in the management of the ARI Driver Safety Management System for MVR recordkeeping
  • Collaborates with Corporate Safety and Training Groups on the selection of training tools and delivery mechanisms, based on the material being taught and the audience being targeted
  • Coordinates inspections, maintenance and repairs on all company vehicles
  • Manage vehicle licensure, titling and registrations ensuring compliance with all requirements
  • Manage all required documentation related to fleet including but not limited to accident related incidents.
  • Perform regular audits of fuel card usage and GPS activity advising management of any misuse or concerns
  • Follows safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years of safety experience in a related industry
  • Fleet management experience
  • Good computer competency is required, including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Must be able to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to work overtime with little notice; weekend hours may occasionally be required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Safety Professional, Occupational Health & Safety Technologist, or Certified Industrial Hygienist
  • Bachelor’s degre

    Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work with minimum direct supervision
  • Strong working knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Understanding of Process Safety Management requirements according to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119
  • Ability to run a functional safety committee with agendas, meeting minutes, etc.
  • Ability to speak in front of large groups effectively
  • Basic understanding of occupational health and industrial hygiene principles
  • Ability to positively interact with regulatory agencies
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret data and conduct incident analyses
  • An understanding of the factors that influence human behavior
  • Ability to prioritize tasks within a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Willingness to learn and be a part of a team
  • Strong work ethic and ability to demonstrate consistent and effective leadership behaviors
  • Capable of making good judgments/decisions.
  • Positive attitude and a team player
  • Ability to build positive relationships with customers, both internal and external
  • Willingness and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
  • Safety mindset and acceptance of a safety culture
  • Related expeprience may be substituted for education

Working Conditions:

  • Travel by vehicle to and from work locations
  • Regularly exposed to construction environments involving equipment, elevated work areas, confined spaces, noise, dust, hazardous materials and odors
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE
