Job Summary and Qualifications

The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of imaging procedures as ordered by the physician. The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for day-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a diagnostic/therapeutic environment.

What you will do in this role:  

  • You will perform ultrasound exams following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring a high quality of care.
  • You will demonstrate competent use of GE Logiq E9 equipment.
  • You will be familiar with breast ultrasound, correlating findings to mammographic results, and performing ultrasound-guided breast biopsies.
  • You will perform DEXA exams.
  • You will conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of probes according to specifications.
  • You will ensure compliance with quarterly targeted metrics (e.g., Kronos, HealthStream, PACS).
  • You will take patient history and retrieve necessary orders or prior images.
  • You will provide patient history, signs, and symptoms relevant to the exam for the radiologist.
  • You will appropriately complete documentation.
  • You will coordinate patient flow and check the daily list to ensure all exams are complete.
  • You will inform patients about procedures and answer any questions.
  • You will interact and communicate professionally with physicians.
  • You will maintain all required licenses, certifications, and accreditations.
  • You will maintain departmental work areas through daily cleaning, stocking, and organization.
  • You will promote the customer service initiative by adhering to ICARE values.
  • You will support and participate in quality (QI) and performance improvement (PI) plans.
  • You will demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, patient assessment, treatment range, and care appropriate to the ages of patients served.
