JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director of Sustainable Tire reports to the Director of Sustainability Business Solutions & Global Strategy Lead and is responsible for bringing new tires to market & repositioning our current product portfolio to meet customer sustainability needs and position Bridgestone as a sustainability leader in the industry.

Key areas of focus will be Race Tires, OEM / Emerging OE fitments, and EV specific patterns for the Replacement market.

This role will have P&L accountability to develop & launch products based on customer & market insights that generate monetizable value for Bridgestone.

This role is critical to ensure dedicated focus on emerging sustainability needs of priority customers as product / service / business needs evolve quickly in this new space.

EXPECTED AREAS OF COLLABORATION • This role will work cross-functionally to drive sales, marketing, & communications strategies for priority customers / segments, working collaboratively with Product Planning, Marketing, Communications, & R&D to drive from concept through technical execution to product launch & scale.

• While primarily focused on the Americas, this position is expected to drive global thought leadership through contributions & connectivity to Bridgestone’s Global Sustainability Business Committee Recycle Working Group.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Planning & Development
* Identifying market opportunities and developing associated new product strategies
* Developing new product value propositions and targeted feature sets
* Developing commercial/pricing strategies
* Creating competitive sustainability benchmarking for our tire portfolio
* Ensuring new product success through close collaboration with research & design, manufacturing, procurement, marketing, and sales leadership
* Interpreting regulatory requirements and driving approval processes related to product safety, labelling, performance/sustainability claims, etc
Product Management (P&L/Rev Accountability)
* Managing the product/brand P&L (e.g., budgeting, expenditures, profitability, ROI etc.).
* Analyzing potential markets, competitor positioning, and customer buying patterns to project demand/profitability for potential products, key product requirements, favorable timing for product launches, etc.
* Partnering with product development and marketing teams to ensure that customer needs for each targeted segment are incorporated into product design, branding, and marketing approaches
* Analyzing product/brand performance and customer feedback as input to product requirements / enhancements

QUALIFICATIONS

* Undergraduate degree in marketing, business, or other related field with minimum of 10 years’ experience managing a product/brand and its P&L; Master’s degree preferred
* Must have strong executive presence and bring experience presenting to sr.

level executives
* Must operate collaboratively with all stakeholders and have the ability to hold others accountable
* Candidate needs to have demonstrated ability to bring a product and / or service to market and an ability to build a business model from a “white sheet of paper” foundation
* Candidate must have strong analytical skills and needs to be able to assess a significant amount of qualitative and quantitative data
* Experience working with a creative agency to help develop key elements of brand support strongly preferred
* 5 years industry experience with sustainably positioned commercial products strongly preferred
