Description:
Independent Stave Company seeks a self-motivated, hardworking individual to join our log procurement team as a full-time log auditor in Tennessee. As a Log Auditor, you will be responsible for working closely with our log buyers and monitoring their performance by applying our log buying standards. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone with a great personality and who enjoys working outdoors.
Compensation: $45,000 to start plus incentives
Essential Duties
Responsible for grading logs using the company buying standard.
Achieving audit goals and objectives for a defined territory.
Establish positive relations with the procurement team through ethical, consistent, and professional performance.
Provide timely and accurate reporting of audits and other activities as required.
Work closely with log buyers by regularly training and assisting them as necessary.
Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience working in the wood products industry or forestry-related degree.
Well-developed organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making ability.
Computer proficiency in MS Office, Excel, e-mail, and Internet functions.
Must be able to travel and occasionally stay overnight.
